VEMS^TM is written entirely in Java and is based on an open model to allow existing or newly customized applications to be integrated as a seamless component into the community. This open model approach also circumvents the issues of system compatibility in cross-organizational communication. VEMS^TM is a revolutionary solution for enterprise business/project management. The complete application suite allows the enterprise community the first solution that integrates corporate information, proposals, best practices and analytic project data. • View enterprise and project resource and availability: You can see the planned and actual workload and the availability of your resources with a click of the mouse. This lets you create a virtual 24-hour day, with efficient communication independent of geographic location. Discussion boards lets project team members post important notes for all to see and discuss. And you can use the Announcements tool to schedule meetings.
• Report generator continuously updates numerous reports: The report generator continuously queries the project database and writes reports in HTML format to your Project Community. Numerous reports give you up-to-the-minute information on a wide variety of topics and allow a wide variety of HTML reports to be made available to your team with the touch of a button.
• Send e-mails to resources when they are assigned or removed from tasks.
• Publish your project schedules on your VEMS^TM community: VEMS^TM puts project data where it should be: at the user's fingertips. Anybody can use Virtual Project Communicator to see which projects and tasks they are assigned to and how much time they are to spend working on tasks, even across multiple projects.
• Report actual hours spent on tasks: Managers use VEMS^TM to view planned and reported actual hours of project team members. Submitted hours can be accepted and written to the database or rejected for rework.
• Display task descriptions and links dynamically to your team: Link web pages to your tasks so everybody knows what to do. The task outline and other information are easily accessible through you community.
• Use your existing project management software to plan your projects. Use your favorite project management software (Project Scheduler, Microsoft Project, PS7...) to create your project schedule and assign the resources. VEMS^TM imports them directly into your Community. Connects to any major database server with JDBC.
• Control access to project data and define user preferences: You can define VEMS^TM users. Each user has a password, resource ID and access rights. These determine which project data users may see and manipulate. Every project team member can use the project links to access the project Web sites. VEMS^TM makes sure that users only see the information they may see, but have quick access to the information they need.
